Hello Gator’s Family,
In a massive first round of basketball, the Youth League Men had a very successful away double header weekend against Craigieburn and Warrandyte. They won both games in convincing fashion. On Saturday night, they beat Craigieburn 108 to 77 and backed up with a win on Sunday against Warrandyte, 119 to 71. The Team was led by Marach Marach who averaged 18 points per game, 7.5 rebounds per game and 4 assists per game.
The Youth League Men look to build on their great start and take on Collingwood this Sunday at 1:00pm at Collingwood College.
The Youth League Women showed a lot of fight in their opening round matches, however were unable to get the job done against Waverly and Melbourne. Destiny Liu had a strong start to the season averaging 12 points per game and Aseka Ratnayake had a wonderful performance against Waverly.
The Youth League Women travel to Ballarat this Saturday night.
The Senior Women won an absolute nail biter. Alysha Carden David, made a clutch shot that resulted in the a 66-65 win against Coburg Giants. The Gators had many contributors, Sharna Appleby led the way with 15 points and Rehyan Aziz with 13.
The Senior Women this week travel to Collingwood on Sunday to take on Collingwood at 3pm.
The Senior Men had a successful start of the season. They travelled to Wallan on Saturday night and came home with a 67 to 61 win. On Sunday, in front of a Home Crowd they beat Melton 94 to 76. Jovan Bojanic was strong for the Gator’s men averaging 17.5 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per game.
They Senior Men are backing up for another double Header this weekend. They play Whittlesea at Mill Park on Saturday and return to the Swamp on Sunday to play Pakenham. Make sure you are at the Swamp, 1pm on Sunday to cheer on the Men.
