Gators Big V Wrap Up – Round 6

Still growing as a team the Youth League Gator Men played back to back games on the weekend against local rivals but unfortunately came up short.

On Saturday Night our Gators Centre Harrison Williams had a great double double with 23 Points & 10 Rebounds and was massive inside the paint against Wyndham Devils however the Gators came up short in the 23 Point loss.

The Gator Boys were hoping to bounce back on Sunday Home again at Altona but they came across a red hot Steven Hooper from the Craigieburn Eagles and it’s not just the last name because he can hoop! 32 Points, 12 Rebounds, 3 Assists, and 7 Steals saw Steven definitely be the player of the game and the Eagles picking up a nice 20 point victory on the road.

Our Youth League Gator Women faced a strong Kilsyth Cobras side on the road and this contest always serves up a treat but the Gators left empty handed. Cassie Dodemaide, was the best player for Altona scoring 16 Points and chasing down 13 Rebounds. A great start from the Gators early but the Kilsyth Cobras strike came in the second half with the Cobras holding on to just over a five point lead for the rest of the game.

Our Triple Header Sunday didn’t go to plan this week, unfortunately our Senior Gator Women went down to the high flying Craigieburn Eagles by a ;large margin. Four Eagles players including Cox, Reynolds, Ellis, and Strait outscored the Gators themselves combining for 58 points. Awesome to see Monique Marcetic Vaotangi back in the Gators kit as she had 15 Points for the game and 9 points just in the last quarter.

Senior Gator Men ended our Triple Header on a high outmuscling the Craigieburn Eagles. Dominating in the second half the Gators got out to a monstrous 40 Point Lead which was the final margin of the game and Gator Forward Samson Rocker was the highlight of the show with 29 Points and 10 Rebounds.

Our only Home Game for this Weekend will be on Saturday Night when the Youth League Gator Women played Diamond Valley Eagles at 7.30pm.
