Gators Big V Results Wrap Up – Round 3

Back on our Home Court our Youth League Women had a strong win against Melbourne Tigers on Saturday night. The Gators dominated the second half outscoring the Tigers 36–21. Jordan Wilson 18 Points and Esta Rarere 15 Points helped close this game out well.

The Youth League Women were away on the road Sunday but unfortunately the Ringwood Hawks swooped on the Gators in the second half going up by Nine Points and holding that lead for the reminder of the match. Despite the loss it was a good effort by our Gators and a fantastic game by Alicia Sciberras having a double-double with 22 Points 11 Rebounds.

Going into our Triple Header Sunday most of us thought it would be Sunday fun day but that could not be said for our Youth League Men as they were out classed by Geelong United from tip off.

Being down by 36 points at half time, there was no coming back for the Gators as the pain on the scoreboard continued, gifting the opposition easy buckets with 30 turnovers and United getting out to over a 50 Point Lead. Marach Marach – playing against his former Gators side went all out for Geelong with 29 Points & 8 Rebounds & 4 Steals.

Our Senior Gator Women got their second win of the season over Chelsea Gulls but the sad sight of this game was sharp shooter Maya Ganzon going off early with a suspected knee injury.

Despite the early shock the Gators remained focused and strung out to a 20 Point Lead heading into halftime. The Gators worked well inside the paint utilising Alysha Carden-David and Kayla Salmons to the best of their ability.

Alysha Carden-David finished with a double-double 15 Points & 15 Rebounds while Kayla Salmons finished with 16 Points & 5 Rebounds including 6 from 6 from the free throw line.

Missing a few star starting players the Senior Gator Men needed to adjust rotations and line-ups. Keeping it close early on the Gators stayed in this fast paced contest against the Whittlesea Pacers. In the 3rd quarter the Pacers dominated after back to back 3 pointers from Patty Green who had 31 Points and was 7/10 from downtown. The sharp shooting Pacers shaped a solid lead going into the last and put a lid on this game and our Triple Header at the Swamp.

Have a safe and happy Easter break Gator Fam and we hope to see you all back on the 15th of April supporting our Senior Women when they kick off Round 4 at home!
