Gators BIG V Results Wrap Up – Round 17

What a Season the Senior Gator Men have had and what a way to finish at home with a nice Victory against the Wallan Panthers on Saturday night.

No Samson Rocker in this game but the Gators still got the job done which showed the depth in their team. Adam Anderson with a few quick fire threes got the Gators on the scoreboard early and despite the Wallan Panthers efforts the Gators were too strong for them in the last quarter.

Speak of the strong and Tyson Burton comes to mind, having a solid double-double 23 Points and 13 Rebounds earning him BIG V Blue Carpet honours this week.

An impressive and dominantly owned second half by the Keysborough Cougars outscoring the Youth League men Gators 54 – 34 on Sunday afternoon. It was showtime for the Cougars with dunks, three pointers, and playmaking perfection by Jacob Oryem who had 22 Points, 12 Rebounds.

For the Gators despite the loss to end their season Kurt Butler performed well finishing with 19 Points and 11 Rebounds. It’s been a tough season for our Youth League Gator boys and we would like to wish them all the best for their break and know they will bounce back stronger Next Season with some experience and exposure under their belt.

The Senior Gator Women relied on hope trying to beat the Warrnambool Mermaids by a hefty margin to try and scrape through to finals. Unfortunately Warrnambool had other plans and in the 4th Quarter the Gators struggled defensively and on the boards against opposition player Dakota Crichton who was a beast on the glass with 18 Rebounds with nine of those being offensive made her very tough to stop.

Heads up Gators, solid effort after your promotion to Division One this season so be proud of what you have Achieved this Year and looking forward to the 2024 Season.

Super proud of the Youth League Gator Women finishing the regular Season on a high and on Top of the Watson Table as they defeated the Dandenong Rangers on Sunday. MVP contender Alicia Sciberras casually helping herself to 24 Points, 11 Rebounds, 4 Assists, and 2 Steals.

All the best in the finals girls!
