Gators BIG V Results Wrap Up β Round 15
Our Sunday Triple Header started with the Youth League Women just falling 1 Point short to the Kilsyth Cobras. The Cobra strike hit the Gators in the second quarter outscoring them 21-8. Late in the game the Gators needed a three pointer to force Overtime but they ran out of time and instead got a quick two from Raini Matthews who finished the game with 11 Points and 5 Assists.
I think we all needed to put tooth picks in between our eyelids for our second match as the Youth League Menβs game went into Triple Overtime!!
Pax Masongele had a great game hassling the Giants with his high pressure defense and he was everywhere on the Court with a mixed bag of stats. Paxβs quickness lead to 24 Points, 9 Rebounds, 4 Assists, and 3 Steals.
A few golden opportunities for the Gators throughout the three Overtime Periods to wrap this game up but they left multiple doors open and the Giants took full advantage of them.
The Senior Gator Men found themselves trailing by 7 Points early on against the Surf Coast Chargers but the Gators quickly got back into the contest as they went on an 11-0 run and hit the front on the scoreboard. Adam Anderson was on fire from downtown hitting nine out of 14 from the Three Point Arc and finishing the game with 33 Points.
Anderson played through some Ankle pain in the second half and although he went quite shooting wise his teammate in Tyson Burton stepped up and had a solid game trying his luck from downtown and hitting two out of three. Burton also had a physical presence proving too strong for the opposition inside the paint finishing with 21 Points & 13 Rebounds and one block.
See you on Saturday Night at the Swamp when the Youth League Men take on the Camberwell Dragons.
