Altona Gators BIG V Results Wrap Up – Round 14

A super Saturday night win for the Youth League Gator Women comfortably beating the Nunawading Spectres by 44 points. Alicia Sciberras and Jordan Wilson with a double-double each. Alicia Sciberras again making it on the BIG V Blue Carpet this week finishing the game with 23 Points, 11 Rebounds and three Assists.

On Sunday the Gator Girls picked up their 15th Win of the Season and are looking fantastic on top of the Watson table. Ballarat Miners shorthanded with players were fatigued at times and a fully fit and firing Gators squad could not be stopped. The Martyn sisters were terrific on the glass. Alexia Martyn had 12 Rebounds and 11 Points, a nice double-double for the young star. Impressive work by Evelyn Martyn having 10 points, four Rebounds, and one Block in just eight minutes.

The Youth League Gator Men falling short to the Craigieburn Eagles on the road and to sum up the game the Eagles “wanted it more” said Gators coach Jason Bryant. The Eagles had a 15 point lead and the Gators cut it down but were unable to fully take control of the match.

Thankfully the Youth League Gator Men responded strongly bouncing back on Sunday at home against the Collingwood All Stars. Jack Lallo had it all with a great mixture of defense and offence. Jack Lallo was a dominant figure for the Gators (seven Rebounds and 16 Points) especially in the second half as the Gators strung out to a double digit lead. Kurt Butler started the game well and got a double-double straight away finishing with 14 Rebounds, 15 Points, and three Steals.

Five wins in a row for our Senior Gator Women as they ended our Pink Day on a high. The Gators blew Melbourne Uni out of the building from the 2nd quarter onwards outscoring them during the whole game. Three Gators on the scorers’ leaderboard in this game including Jordan Wilson with 20 Points, Monique Marcetic–Vaotangi 16 Points and Jess Rarity 13 Points.
