Altona Gators Big V Wrap Up โ Round 13
Despite the loss in overtime, still proud of the Youth League Gator Menโs efforts against Bulleen Boomers on Saturday night as each player gave it their all. Leading by a handful of points with a minute to go Bulleen hit everything they put up late and forced the game into OT and ended up winning the game.
A brilliant response by the Young Gators on Sunday at home against the Bendigo Braves as the whole team chipped in again and they closed the game out. Ryan Robinson created a spark for the Gators as they hit the front at the end of the first with his half court buzzer beater which got the crowd going. Speaking of crowd, a huge thanks to the Melton Thoroughbred youngsters who came to support Pax Masongele and the Gators as Pax had 20 Points & made two crucial free throws for the Gators.
On Saturday night Senior Gator Women vs the Westernport Steelers, it was Monique and Kayla in the 4th quarter for the Gators who swung momentum for Gators team with some tough baskets and bonus oneโs. Well done to Alysha Carden-David who had a double-double with 12 Rebounds & 15 Point.
Massive Result for the Senior Gator Men as they beat the Top of the Table Whittlesea Pacers by just One Point in a solid contest away at Whittlesea. Adam Anderson with 23 Points lead the Gators scoring. Credit to the Pacers who put up a great fight and were in front for most of the match. So proud of the Gators, huge win for the team!
The Youth League Women are on a winning streak beating Frankston Blues on Saturday. Alicia Sciberras is having a great season and has been a real offensive threat for opposition where she had a mixture of stats which included 21 Points, 14 Rebounds, 2 Steals. It was also great to see a young star in Mary-Rose Yap chip in with 13 Points, 2 Rebounds, 1 Assist, 3 Steals.
The Young Gator Girls also played Sunday away at Casey with Raini Matthews leading all scorers in this game with 18 Point. Cassie Dodemaide had another Double-Double 10 Points & 10 Rebounds, best part of that being the 5 Offensive Boards which outlines her hustle and hunger for the ball.
See you Saturday night at the Swamp when the Youth League Women take on Nunawading Spectres.
Donโt forget Gators our annual Pink Round is on Sunday for our Triple Header so make sure to dress up in your Pink Colours and support a wonderful cause in BCNA.
