Gators Big V Results Wrap Up – Round 8

Saturday Night at the Swamp saw hungry Gators snap at the Raiders heels as the Youth League Women get a great victory on the home court. The Gators with a magnificent second half effort especially in the 3rd Quarter which saw them take a solid 19 point lead into the Last Quarter.

Jordan Wilson led all scorers in this game with 19 Points but the player who was the hungriest for the ball was Cassie Dodemaide who was fantastic on both ends of the Court especially Offensively with eight Offensive Rebounds and this led to more chances for the Gators to score.

Second Time the Gator Men have played the Breakers this season and this time it was away in Mornington. A thrilling game of Basketball and credit to the Breakers on their efforts but our Gators held on and came home with the win. Kieran McQueen with 30 points for the Breakers and for the Gators Samson Rocker had 22 Points. MVP contender Nicholas Patel keeps on being the consistent standout for the Gators; in this game he had a great double double with 20 Points and 13 Rebounds.

Our Sunday Special for Mother’s Day had our Senior Women take on the top of the ladder Bellarine Storm. Great to see our Gators lead by 12 Points and Kayla Salmons with a handful of Points in the paint. Bellarine ‘stormed’ home in the 4th quarter with a great comeback win on the road. Bellarine’s Georgia Varley 22 Points and Lucy Howard 20 Points were the two major contributors for the Storm who got them over the line when it mattered most.

Exciting seeing the Youth League Men be up 21 Points at half-time against the Camberwell Dragons on the road. Young Robbie Ross had a ripper start to this game and finished with 22 Points with Six 3’s made out of 11 Attempts. Pure heartbreak for the Gators as the Dragons outscored them in the 4th quarter 30-15 and ended up coming back to snatch this game in the dying stages.
