Gators Big V Wrap Up β Senior Semi-Finals
Heartbreak for our Senior Men on Saturday night as the Pakenham Warriors wrapped up the Semi Final series eliminating the Gators.
The Warriors with a strong start in the first quarter had a comfortable 10 + point lead throughout the game.
However without Zachary Polglaze due to injury the Gators needed to adjust its game plan and although 4 players were in double digits on the scoreboard (Dut Dut, Samson Rocker, Thomas Georgiadis and Jovan Bojanic) it was not enough to stop the Warriors.
Although it is season over for our Senior Men, we would like to congratulate coaches Jordan Lino, Josh Turton and their Team on making it to the Semi -Finals β Great effort Gators.
The Senior Women took on the RMIT Redbacks on Sunday at the Swamp.
What a game of basketball it was, the Gators would Win in a Thriller.
The Gators got out to an 11-point lead early and throughout the game their sharp shooters were on fire with Sharna Appleby finishing the game with 28 points.
Similar to this strong performance, Jess Rarity had one of her own as she unleashed with a double-double, 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Commiserations to the Redbacks, they put up a huge fight in this match and had us on the edge of our seats thinking they would cause an upset but two late baskets from Reyhan Aziz put the icing on the cake.
So the good news is β¦. THE GATORS ARE ONTO THE BIG DANCE!!!
They will take on the Mornington Breakers in the Grand Final in a 3 Game Series.
Only Game 1 is played at the Swamp, so make sure to get down there Sunday 28th August at 1pm and support our Gators.
